Apparently WIDE BELTS are all the rage this fall. I was in Target last week and counted no fewer than ten different styles of wide belts, everything from dominatrix-looking leather numbers to beaded bohemian chic. And let me tell you, wide belts are one of a t-girl's best friends.

The most basic rule of visual figure-fixing is to break up any body area that you consider too large with the cut of your clothes or accessories. Most tgirls do NOT have the feminine, nipped-in waist they long for. An awful lot of them have skinny hips & tubby bellies instead. A big wide belt breaks up the abdominal area and instantly, magically gives you a waist.

Plus it's a lot more comfortable and realistic to wear than a waist cincher, which WILL show under your clothes. (Think about it - how often do you see real girls, even fat ones, wearing waist cinchers?)

The women's belts at Target come in sizes up to 2x, which will fit about a 42-44" waist, depending on the style. But I am sure if it's a trend they will be all over the place this fall. So now's a good time to kit yourself out with a selection to match every outfit.
